Hitting Farther

With of the never-ending quest for more yardage, we can find ourselves trying to over turn. While it is true that the bigger your turn can mean more power, over turning can do the opposite – it can drain your body of any power that it has generated during the back-swing.

There are a couple of ways this can happen: In an effort to get the club as far back as possible you can either tilt your head back toward the target (a reverse pivot), or you will loosen your hands and let the club wrap around your neck. Both errors are big power-killers. Two thoughts can help you return power to your game. Turn your chest away from the target so your sternum is directly opposite the target and get you hands high at the top.
