Steve Hausmann of Algonquin GC shot a 5 under par 139 to capture the 2008 PNC Qualifier at Lake Forest CC. Other qualifiers for the 2009 National PNC at Santa Ana Pueblo, NM, included Bob Gaus (Tower TeeGC), Craig Liddle (Meadowbrook CC), and JC Anderson (Old Hickory GC). Alternates will be Mike Suhre (Oak Brook GC), Rob Sedorcek (St. Albans), and Mike Fromuth (Crystal Springs Quarry GC).

Section Championship

Kathy Smith of Nicklaus Apparel with Champion Steve Hausmann
Steve Hausmann of Algonquin GC won his second career Section Championship at the CC of St. Albans. Hausmann fired a final round 66 to take the title by 3 strokes over Bob Gaus of Tower Tee GC. Mike Tucker of Bellerive CC came home third in the 54 hole championship which featured two of the rounds on the Lewis & Clark course with Round 2 played on the Tavern Creek course.

Hayes Captures Anheuser-Busch Gateway PGA Senior Section Title
John Hayes of Forest Hills CC captured his first Gateway PGA Senior Section Championship at The Falls GC in O'Fallon, MO. Hayes followed up his opening round of 67 with a 5 under par 66 to finish
with a 9 under par score of 133 to edge Scott Bess from Columbia, MO,
who set a new course record with a 63 in the final round.

The team from Kokopelli earns a spot in the National McGladrey Team Championship finals in Pinehurst, NC, by winning the Gateway PGA section finals at the CC of St. Albans.
M&M Golf Cars/Cutter & Buck Scratch Pro-Am
Bellerive CC Teaching Professional Brian Fogt and his team capture the M&M Golf Cars/Cutter & Buck Scratch ProAm at Persimmon Woods CC. Amateur partners Adam Long, Justin Bryant, and Ellen Port, blistered the course with a 13 under par score to capture the victory by 4 strokes.
